Inaction Can Ruin A Troubled Relationship

If you are afraid to honestly and openly communicate your concerns and problems you perceive in your relationship with your wife, you are doing a disservice to your chances of repairing a troubled marriage. You must take action, do something, "rock the boat" if you must. Inaction because of fear of feelings getting hurt will not improve your relationship. You simply have to get your concerns out in the open and discuss them if any positive changes are to occur.

Your wife may not even seem like she feels the marriage is in trouble, but if you are feeling it, it is. You must be able to address your concerns head on and make an attempt to work them out as a couple.

Even if you fail in your attempts to repair a troubled relationship, it is still worthwhile to make your own efforts to make positive changes. If you are seeing warning signs in your marriage and don't act now, you may suffer the following consequences:

* Internal conflict - Doubts, worries, concerns and negative thoughts will eat away at you if you fail to act when realizing you are in a troubled ...
... relationship. Refusing to bring your issues out in to the open will compound what may seem to your wife as a "molehill" into a "mountain" of discontent.

* Apathy - You may find yourself feeling apathetic not only about your relationship, but about life in general. It is difficult, trying and emotionally draining living in a troubled relationship, but not resolving your problems will lead to further damage. Apathy causes more harm to both your marriage and yourself. If you don't care, you can't improve anything. Taking action to create a healthy, happy and fulfilling relationship starts with self-respect. Although it can be uncomfortable confronting the issues in your marriage, you have to break a few eggs sometimes, it can be well worth the effort.

* Worsening of problems - When you know the relationship is heading for trouble or just going in the wrong direction, it is essential to immediately begin to identify issues, communicate these with your wife and try to resolve them. If allowed to fester by doing nothing, small problems tend to grow out of proportion. Even seemingly minor issues can then become relationship breakers if not addressed as they come up.

* An eventual break - If no attempt at improving the relationship occurs, it may result in an irreconcilable breakup. Complete inaction could also leave you in a situation which is unhappy, unfulfulling and mired in other unhealthy behaviours. It is better to air out your grievances, communicating openly, and let the chips fall where they will, rather than living an unfulfilling existence.

You simply must act if you are living in a troubled relationship. Couples can grow stronger and have healthier relationships when positive steps are taken to confront issues and mend problems. The potential rewards of taking these actions can far outweigh the risks and lead to relationship you have always dreamed of having.
