The investment was structured as a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity), allowing investors to purchase equity at a later date. The funds will be used to expand Ambi’s product portfolio and workforce, particularly in engineering, customer support, and operations, as well as to continue deploying and installing its cutting-edge technologies.

This vast database allows the system to train deep learning algorithms, enabling robots to pick, move, and pack items with remarkable efficiency. Ambi’s robots can pick, scan, insert, and pack items in fulfillment centers, improving productivity while being monitored by software that tracks key metrics like item dimensions, weight, and overall performance.

Driving Efficiency in E-Commerce
Jim Liefer, CEO of Ambi Robotics, highlighted the company’s mission to bring innovative solutions to the ever-growing e-commerce industry. "The team at Ambi Robotics brings a new way of thinking about traditional problems," said Liefer. “With advanced technology that can solve real-world issues, we’re moving toward a more sustainable supply chain, reducing the physical burden on our most valuable asset—people.”

AmbiSort A-Series v3: The Next Step in Robotics
One of Ambi Robotics’ key goals following this funding round is to roll out its latest product, the AmbiSort A-Series v3. This new version includes a “soft-touch” end effector, allowing it to handle both rigid and deformable items. In fulfillment centers, workers can collaborate with three or four of these systems, dramatically increasing throughput to over 1,200 items sorted per hour per employee.

Growing Commercial Interest in Robotics Startups
The timing of this funding aligns with the broader trend of growing interest in robotics startups. In 2021 alone, these startups raised more than $17 billion. Major corporations like Amazon and Walmart are heavily investing in the automation space. Amazon, for example, has launched a $1 billion fund to support companies in the logistics, fulfillment, and supply chain sectors. Walmart, meanwhile, has expanded its partnership with Symbotic, a robotics company, to increase automation in its distribution centers across the U.S.
