Helping Children Conquer Their Pre-school Apprehensions
It may be the first day of school for your little ones and chances are that the first day of school has come sooner than you might think. So, how you can celebrate your child's first day of school? Here is a sampling of creative and innovative ways you can kick off the new school year. If you are already feeling a little overwhelmed, these inexpensive and innovative ways can help to remember that your child will likely benefit from a school experience in many different settings. While it is essential that you look thoughtfully at the schools in your area, always remember that parents are the most guiding and influential factor in your child's growth and development.
Start to get organized
Talk about few things your child would help to get off to a good start on the first day of school. A few brilliant ideas to get a good start at the school include: meeting the teacher, having the backpack ready, choosing an outfit ahead of time, reminding your child of how to introduce himself, talking about the differences he will encounter, such as changing classes, having a locker, changing clothes, and selecting ...
... some of his courses, leaving early enough to meet up with a friend before class, and so on. So, one must consider making such adjustments to your schedule if possible.
Managing supplies
If you come across teacher supplies, classroom supplies, stock up. It is wonderful to get discounted deals on supplies. Nothing is good than buying items on sale so you do not have to buy them again at full price. Dedicate a space in your home where everyone knows to look for teacher supplies.
Taking onto a Photo Tour
Gather your child's past school year photos before the first day of school. In the evening, sit down with your child as you peruse each one. Images are powerful and photographs jog the memory, so let each photograph prompt your child to recall an emotion. Repeat this process for each year until you reach the present. End the activity by asking your child what he anticipates from the new school year: what he fears, as well as what he is eager for.
Provide your child a safe learning environment
Provide your child with a safe and learning place to spend time in where everything is child sized, and child-centered, and where there are stimulating and exciting things to learn, and friends to make. This will help your child to acquire the skills and confidence needed to be prepared for the next stages of learning.
Try some of these ideas or others with your children and the results are worth the effort!
