How Can I See Who Looks At My Facebook Profile?
Over the past several years, social media sites like FaceBook and MySpace have become an integral part of many consumers’ lives. Used for everything from keeping track of friends and family to marketing business efforts, it seems like everyone has a FaceBook profile. FaceBook, which has millions of users, may very well be the most popular social media site and many of its users often ask the following question: How can I see who looks at my FaceBook profile? They ask this question with good reason. Whether you are interested in who is looking for you or more interested in targeting the traffic that views your profile, there are a lot of reasons people would like to know just exactly who views their profile.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any one good way. While FaceBook has recently been the target of some privacy issues, their goal has always been to allow users to connect only with the people they choose to connect with. Simply put, FaceBook isn’t set up to allow users to accurately determine who has taken a look at their profile. Luckily, there are some different methods ...
... for figuring out just who has been visiting your profile.
It is easiest to determine which of your friends have been visiting your profile. There are several applications designed to do just this. In many cases the applications will also rank the visitors, allowing users to track who visits their site the most. The difficulty with these applications is they will only track visitors who are already on your friend’s page, all but ignoring visitors who find your page but are not on your friends list.
Many of the people who are looking to track visitors are not very interested in visitors who are already on their friend’s lists. Most, especially those using FaceBook as part of a social media program for their business, are more interested in visitors who are not already on their friends list. While there are several third party providers who do offer this service, there is not a FaceBook feature or approved application that will track each and every visitor to a page.
Many rely on a series of other measures to more accurately gauge traffic. Offering an incentive for ‘liking’ a page is one idea. Unfortunately until FaceBook changes their guidelines and regulations, it is technically not possible to track visitors to a profile page. Whether you are simply trying to get the biggest friends list possible or if you are working on marketing your latest business effort, tracking just who visits your FaceBook profile would be very helpful. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to track visitors who are not friends. No matter your purpose on FaceBook, unknown visitors can often glean a lot of personal information right from your profile page, so be sure to be cautious in your positing and profile. It is unlikely FaceBook will add a feature allowing users to track un ‘friend’ visitors.
