Test cricket is the pinnacle of the sport and a true test of skill, endurance, and mental fortitude. Test cricket is seen to be the most challenging format for a batter. Because of this, a youngster's skills are most tested in this particular format. A few of the greatest Test cricket players in history have had outstanding careers. These legends have honored their country many times. To be listed among the top run scorers in Test cricket is also a goal shared by all batsmen; it's a huge achievement. To achieve this feat against the world's best bowlers, a batsman has to possess extraordinary batting skills, mental toughness, and tenacity to perform reliably over a lengthy period of time. When speaking about all these qualities, there’s only one name that comes to mind - Sachin Tendulkar - who’s got the highest runs in Test cricket followed by Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis.

Jacques Kallis

With 13,289 runs, 45 hundreds, and 292 wickets, Jacques Kallis is statistically the greatest all-rounder in Test history. Kallis was also exceptionally resilient, having played in 166 Test matches between 1995 and 2013. ...
... He was an outstanding player at the time and contributed significantly to making South Africa the top Test side in the world. Additionally, he frequently placed close to the top of the Test batting rankings. Kallis was getting by with ease with a strike rate of 46, but he had all the skills to punish the bowling attack severely when the circumstances allowed. The South African's batting featured very few errors, which allowed him to put together long innings and chase cricket scores like a walk in the park.

Ricky Ponting

Despite batting at number three for 196 of his 287 Test innings, Ricky Ponting was a tough competitor and an aggressive batter. Ponting is regarded as one of the best pull and hook players in cricket history and, like many other Australians, was a master at playing from the back foot. He seemed comfortable moving forward, though, as he hit the ball all over the wicket. Ricky Ponting's almost 59 strike rate showed that he could overpower opponents, and all 41 of his hundreds in Test cricket contained several game-winning knocks. Ponting is considered an Australian great despite his propensity to expose himself to leg before wickets (LBWs) as an attack-minded batter.

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is by far the greatest batter since Don Bradman, although he has a claim to the title with a record of 51 hundreds in 200 Test matches. At sixteen, Tendulkar made his Test debut for India. Over his 24-year-long career in the game, he broke several records and simultaneously made new ones. The Little Master had a perfect balance at the crease, allowing him to lean into his characteristic straight drive with exact timing or rock back for a draw. Even though Tendulkar's dedication originated in India, he is still adored worldwide. Outside of the subcontinent's advantageous surfaces, he was able to perform well, averaging above 45 in every Test-playing nation but Pakistan. Even though Tendulkar has a long list of Test records which made it into every cricket news at the time, it is unlikely that anybody will ever match his run total given the current state of Test cricket, particularly Sachin Tendulkar's hundreds.
