True cricket fans hold Test cricket very dear to their heart as it is the purest and finest version of the game. The traditional cricket playing format, test cricket, is still popular with cricket fans today. Over time, a number of other forms have evolved, such as Twenty20 and One-Day International, which have gained popularity and preference over Test cricket. However, Test cricket is still the way cricket was initially played. In this framework, any accomplishment is always noteworthy. The most renowned records in Test cricket are those pertaining to runs scored and hundreds. Since reaching the three-figure milestone in the longest format of cricket requires a great deal of commitment, perseverance, and hard work, a century in test cricket is one of the most prized accomplishments for any batsman in his career. Additionally, some cricket players appear to have developed the habit of hitting hundreds in test matches.

Most Hundreds In Tests

Test cricket still attracts sizable stadium attendance thanks to its tours and competitions. The bowling team wants to take rapid wickets, and the batting team wants to score ...
... a lot. Because of the layout of the field and the characteristics of the pitches, bowlers usually excel in test cricket. On the other hand, batters also frequently excel in test matches. In test cricket, players have achieved double, triple, and quadruple hundreds. However, only three hitters have amassed more than 40 test hundreds which also subtly indicates how tough it is to score in the red-ball game. Let’s take a look at the batsmen who not only fared well against the challenge of the longest format but also mastered it.

Sachin Tendulkar

With an incredible 51 hundreds, Sachin Tendulkar is the Test cricketer with the most hundreds in Tests. Tendulkar, who is regarded as one of the best of all time, made his Indian debut against Pakistan in 1989 at the young age of 16. He played 200 Test matches over his 24-year career, scoring 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78, with a peak score of 248*. Tendulkar was a nightmare for bowlers all around the world because of his flawless technique, fast reflexes, and variety of strokes. His match-winning century against England in Chennai in 2008, his double century against Australia in Sydney in 2004, and the renowned "Desert Storm" innings in Sharjah are some of his career highlights.

Jacques Kallis

Jacques Kallis was one of the rarest cricket players to win games with both bat and ball on a regular basis. Both his bowling and batting averages are higher than Zaheer Khan's and Sachin's, respectively. To tell you about his legacy, that is plenty. During his 19-year-long career, his cricket score reached 13289 runs at an average of 55.37 in 166 tests, including 45 centuries and 58 half-centuries. He is often regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time.

Ricky Ponting

With 41 Test hundreds, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting comes in third. Ponting played from 1995 till 2012 and was constantly in cricket news either for his flamboyant gameplay or his brazen attitude. With a maximum score of 257 and an average of 51.85, he amassed 13,378 runs in 168 Test matches. Ponting, the top run scorer for Australia in Test and One-Day International cricket, was renowned for his aggressive batting approach and outstanding leadership abilities. Australia won two ICC Cricket International Cups and dominated international cricket when he was captain.
