Causes Of Constipation That You Should Know To Avoid This Painful Condition
Constipation can be a very uncomfortable, and really hard to deal with. Many are not aware of what causes constipation, but in order to know what causes it we need to know how the digestive system works.
As food moves through the colon it takes in water, from the food we consume, this forms the waste matter that is omitted from our body in the form of a stool. The muscles contract which in turn pushes this waste matter to the rectum. Constipation can take place when the muscles within the colon are not performing at their optimum level. The waste then moves much slower through the rectum causing it to become hard and dry which then results in constipation.
There are a plethora of causes when it comes to constipation and here are just a few of them.
Lack of Fibre in the diet
A lack of fibre in the diet is a very common cause for constipation, fiber is essential to good digestive health, as it dissolves easily and rapidly in water. Fiber when combined with water creates a gel like consistency which makes it very easy to pass through the digestive system thus preventing hard slow bowel movements. ...
... People who have a diet that is high in fiber rarely suffer from constipation.
Lack of fluids
The intake of fluids is very important in maintaining the overall health of the digestive system. It is essential that one consumes enough fluids in order to make sure that the food moves through the digestive system in an effective and efficient manner. Fluids aid in creating softer stools, thus providing some relief from constipation.
Lack of exercise
Lack of exercise could very well contribute to the onset of constipation, due to the fact that when one does not exercise on a regular basis, the muscles become very sluggish. This could sometimes result an altogether unhealthy digestive system.
Medications
