Having pets is a pleasure but one needs to cater to their health needs since they are domesticated form of animals whose immune system is much subdued than that of their wild ancestor's. Thus they need nutritional and other health supplements given at the right time with the right dose to ensure that they do not have unseen health problems like diarrhea, digestion problems, skin problems, food intolerances or anything at all of a more serious nature. All mammals usually house about 400 species of microorganisms in their gastrointestinal tract when completely healthy. These microorganisms might encompass a variety of beneficial bacteria, fungi, protozoa and yeasts that are acquired at inception during birth.

Pets are innocent beings, they wouldn't normally know what happens in their bodily system and even if they did they would not express it, so how would we know when do our pets need probiotics? Well there is no way to know it and that is exactly why many pet owners all over include pet probiotics in their regular routine. A daily nominal dose of the same is given to the pets to keep them remotely far from any unseen ...
... infections or diseases. If not, you could at least include pet probiotics as per the veterinarian's instructions once your pet is infected with a foreign damaging microbial infection in order to restore your pet's intestinal condition and improve their overall health and immunity.

Probiotics unlike antibiotics do not kill both the good and the bad microbes. They are live microbial feed supplements that benefit the host by balancing the microbial count naturally occurring in the body. These microbial feed supplements in the form of probiotics also act as the perfect antigen to encourage the production of counter attacking antibodies. Thus they effectively kick-start the otherwise complacent immune system and boost the overall natural protective field of the body. Also they help fill in the gap that has been vacated by the endogenous microflora that was previously destroyed by the use of antibiotics. It helps the body quickly recover from any recent illnesses that have been the cause for some antibiotic overdose.

Pet probiotics are differentiated according to the frequency of their usage into three viz. maintenance probiotics, intermediate probiotics and concentrated probiotics. While maintenance probiotics come in daily doses for everyday stresses and routine boost of the immune system an intermediate probiotic supplement are also suited for regular consumption to fight chronic stresses. The concentrated probiotic as the name suggest is a much stronger version of the pet probiotic which is supplied to sick pets on a regular basis until the time they start eating and behaving normally. Both cats and dogs acquire essential health benefits from these pet probiotics.
