Safe And Effective Natural Remedies For Pink Eyes Or Conjunctivitis

Pink eye is the common name for the problem conjunctivitis. It is related with an inflammation of the conjunctiva the layer which covers the inner surface of the eyelids and also covers the outermost layer of the eye. In this condition the white portion of an eye becomes pink and that is why it is known as pink eye.

The most leading cause of a red or pink eye is virus infection. The other cause of pink eye may be allergies also. Sometimes infection of cornea is also related with the problem of pink eye. Usually bacteria such as staphylococci and streptococci are the common cause of pink eye.

Some of the important symptoms that are related with the problem of pink eye are pain in eye, redness in eye, swelling and a moderate or large amount of discharge which are usually greenish or yellow in color. Usually the discharge accumulates after sleeping and in the morning usually the eyes get stuck shut. To remove the discharge and to open our eyes it requires application of warm wash cloth.

1. Take a pan and boil some water in it and then keep it aside. Add some amount of salt in this water and put some balls of cotton in this salty solution. First let the boiled water to cool and see that the cotton balls must sunk deeply into the liquid. By keeping your face upwards lie down and keep salted cotton balls on the infected eye. Keep it in this position for at least 5 minutes. You will feel some irritation due to salty cotton balls but don't discontinue this process as it will reduce the infection of the red eye and it is the simplest remedy also.

2. Tea bags are also an alternative solution to the infected eye. You can place the tea bags on sore eyes especially the black tea bags. You can also combine this solution with some amount of honey.

3. The other remedy for pink eye is to take a few pinches of coffee and allow it to boil in small amount of water. Allow this solution to cool properly. Then you can drop this solution to your infected eye. There may be a feeling of dryness in the eye which is quite normal. After some time wash your eyes with tap water.
