Visualize your ideal

The opposite gender. There's nothing better for motivation than thinking about who exactly you'll win over with your new figure.


Clothes. Want to fit into ...
... that branded sweater? Work out harder. Bought a tank top for the summer, but you look like a concentration camp prisoner in it? Run to the gym with your mat, you paid money for it.


Success at work. Wanted to exceed the plan, but didn't have the strength? By getting rid of excess weight, you will free up your strength for work. And clients will be much more welcoming seeing a slim, confident person.


Get into the habit of imagining the above images in different situations. In clothing stores, think about how it will make it easier to find the right thing, at work – how your boss and colleagues will treat you better, and on a walk – about the men or women who are about to fall head over heels for you.


It is this full-fledged approach to visualization that will give a good effect. You will be in a great mood, in anticipation of imminent changes in your own life. And you will know exactly why you need these changes. Only such a mood will not allow you to leave the race ahead of schedule.

This way you can warm up motivation endlessly if you congratulate yourself on every small victory.


Have patience

The motivation that overwhelms those losing weight at the first stage of their distance requires immediate results for replenishment. This is what determines people's desire to see results as quickly as possible at any cost. Some people expect them the very next day after starting a diet.


A common occurrence is that gym newbies immediately after their first workout run to the mirror to record their first results. What's most interesting is that they actually see them! The same useless actions include hourly weighing and measuring body parameters. The illusion of quick results passes very quickly, and with it, joy and motivation.


It is very easy to avoid this. Choose 1 or 2 control days per week and take all measurements only on these days. The results will be more reliable, which means you will be able to soberly assess the effectiveness of your chosen nutrition and exercise program.


Record your results

In order to evaluate the weight loss process, you need to imagine the dynamics of body changes. For this, it is recommended to measure body circumferences (men - waist, girls - waist, chest and hips) and weight in kilograms. Nutritionists and some trainers also recommend undergoing a basic examination of the body and taking tests to evaluate the overall health improvement against the background of getting rid of excess weight.


It is not so difficult to remember your weight and body parameters to compare them every time. However, such representations do not provide clarity. It is much better if you record all your key indicators in a special notebook or application on your smartphone.


What does this give? Firstly, you will be able to know the exact numbers and operate with them. Secondly, the results will become more visible, especially if you make weight loss charts. Thirdly, fixed indicators will additionally motivate you to improve them.


Be proud of yourself


If you knew how many people want to lose weight, and how many of them actually went from words to deeds, you would be very proud of yourself for your determination. Having embarked on the path of improvement, you are already worthy of admiration. The further you advance in your difficult task, the more proud you should feel for yourself. Just think, only two out of a hundred people achieve the desired results, having decided to go on a diet.
