Mexico Homes In Playa Del Carmen - Central, Golf Or Gated?

The Mexico home market presents a very wide variety of properties, and Playa del Carmen homes are no exception. While homes directly on the beachfront are rare, and are rather pricy, the variety in prices, locations and lifestyles is very broad, many providing a comfortable walk, or at least a very short drive to the beachfront.
As the "heart of it all," downtown Playa del Carmen presents some very attractive home options, even though condos are becoming increasingly common in the area. Everything from little Mexican homes to large, splendid houses can be found within walking distance from the beach, from Fifth Avenue with its many restaurants, stores and bars, and from stores like Walmart, and many similar choices. Around the edge of the gentrifying center, there are some very well priced and beautiful custom built homes, and even better priced fixer-uppers.

Many home owners bought their lots while the golf courses were under construction and had a custom home built (many good, undeveloped Playa del Carmen properties are still available on golf courses); others were built by high-quality developers. Golf course communities are usually quiet, very green and provide benefits like biking and walking trails, as well as short drives to malls. Some are also located near marinas. And, of course, there's nothing better for a golf lover than living next to the course! Some examples are Playacar Phase II and Puerto Aventuras.
Golf course communities are usually gated with security, but there are a growing number of other gated communities. They can be found in a variety of locations, ranging from next to the beachfront to Playa del Carmen's newest upscale shopping areas to pleasant new communities a little bit further from everything, but include all the basic services. They all have one thing in common; the comfort of high security. In many of these areas children play in the yards (unfenced) and bike riders leave their bikes parked unlocked.
