Finding a good Dutch oven wasn't very easily, especially with all the good brands out there today, but I was able to find the Pre-seasoned Cast Iron Camping Dutch Oven made by Universal Housewares through the recommendation of friend who loved it! This is definitely a classic piece that can bring memories back from when my family stayed in our cabin in the woods for weeks on end for vacations.

I usually like to cook stews and meats that require a lot of pre-marinating as well as pre-seasoning. Before, it would take a couple of hours for me to be satisfied that my meats were fully saturated in marinade and happy that the seasoning had penetrated deep into the flesh. But with the Universal Housewares cast iron Dutch oven, cooking the meats directly with the marinade has saved me lots of hours of waiting and checking on food just to get the recipe perfectly.

My family loves to go camping and staying in our cabin in the woods during holidays, and when I bought this cast iron Dutch oven, it was a perfect addition to our camping gear. With the wire handle to keep it over a fire and the cast iron material to protect ...
... the food as well as maintain durability in the pot, I have found that this has been one of my most useful implements inside and outside my home!

The cast iron also makes it a very heavy pot, but it makes it very durable as well. I like that the heaviness keeps it stable whether it is on the stove or on my counter top. This is one classic ware that I would definitely consider buying another of.

Easy to use and easy to clean, I have found even the heavy lid to be most useful during our outdoor camping trips. Now, instead of bringing along an extra frying pan, I found that the lid of my Universal Housewares cast iron Dutch oven works just as well as a frying pan! I can place it over a campfire and cook eggs and strips of bacon on it for breakfast and then later use it again to cover a lunch stew I prepare for the family. This is one kitchen and camping implement that I would highly recommend to families who love the great outdoors.
