Transforming Setbacks Into Stepping Stones For Wisdom – We Learn From Our Failure
Wisdom can’t be gained in a single day or an epiphany moment. One needs to work towards developing a deeper understanding of how our mind works in impacting our lives. Our mind is a complex labyrinth of emotions and intellect that works 24*7/365 days to process various information. When the processing is not properly done, or the mind gets tired of processing all the complex data, failures occur. It is the gap between planning and execution. We make plans and often cannot execute them properly, leading to failures.
So, the first step in failure prevention is to learn from the previous mistake. Our past mistakes can be our guide. We can take significant life lessons from what went wrong in our past attempts. The significant step is to try. Because, without effort and trial, no one can reach the height of success. By doing so, we can transform our failures into successes.
Failure is the stepping stone to taste success. If we do not fail, we will never learn from our mistakes, rectify them, and achieve success. On the path to success, facing challenges is something inevitable. Hence, having a positive mindset and ...
... the power to transform them into opportunities for success is the mark of a strong individual.
Individuals who turned their Failures into Success
Some of the most famous people in the world had to taste failure before they could succeed in their journey towards greatness. For example, Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist of all time faced expulsion from an elementary school. He was even refused admission to the Zurich Polytechnic School. But, how he changed his life and the destiny of modern Physics is history.
Sir Walt Disney, the founder of Disney and the father of the animation industry was fired from his job by a newspaper editor stating lack of imagination; he failed several business attempts before he became a movie mogul and established the billion-dollar Walt Disney Company.
History is ripe with many such examples of men/women who achieved greatness after many failed attempts at their profession. Even people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs have tasted failure before becoming undisputed leaders in electronic advancement. Bill Gates was a Harvard dropout. He failed in his first attempt, called “Traf-O-Data”. Even J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the most popular wizardry book series, “Harry Potter” went penniless at a point in her life. She was depressed and divorced, surviving on a welfare fund before she started writing her masterpiece Harry Potter. She is the one among the richest women in the world in leading business magazines.
If you read the biographies of any of these famous people, you will know that they struggled a lot before they got their big break and utilized that opportunity to create history. Always think positive and work hard, as it enhances your confidence. You can design strategies based on patterns that have worked earlier for you and build resilience. Whatever insights you have derived from the past, apply them to your future projects to become successful. Never give up, and celebrate even the small wins.
