Technology, despite research and experimentation, is still limited especially with the fact that we cannot fully fathom its potential and functionality. Such is the case of near IR spectroscopy, which is a non-invasive method for objective imaging for brain functioning. Other related technologies such as NIRI, DOI and OT are limited in themselves in terms of potential utilization and knowledge. The near IR spectroscopy analyzes wavelengths and absorptive intensity near infrared light from a given sample.

In return, near infrared light can trigger reactions given off by molecular vibrations at a higher level. These are what we call combinations and overtones that will generate the image later on. The idea behind NIRS is that infrared can get through biological tissues without interruption and with easy detection on remission. The process involves focusing the infrared light on the scalp of the patient using a high peak laser diode by channeling through fiber optic cables.

When the infrared has breached the tissues and is already within the head, photons will scatter so that some of them can take irregular paths. ...
... The scattering of these photons will achieve plateau in its pace so that it can cover the cortical surface of the brain. Light levels either loss or gain in emitters will be detected and absorption of light will begin so that accurate imaging of the cortical tissue will be furnished.

Near infrared has many applications and this is clearly demonstrated through NIRS with its capacity to detect accurate concentration of hemoglobin through the basic principle of absorption-transmission of the NIR within biological tissues. This means to say that when a fraction of the brain is stimulated, blood surge will follow and the accurate testing and measurement of the hemoglobin concentration will be achieved.

The location where blood surge happens can provide optical imaging so that constant monitoring of blood hemoglobin can be done through the optical absorption coefficients. NIR spectroscopy is the kind of technology that can definitely benefit the field of medicine significantly without resorting to invasive procedures just to keep the health of the patients intact and well taken cared for.

Of course, near infrared spectroscopy will come with a price just like any other technology we have discovered worldwide. But, if it will be utilized to its full potential, patients all throughout the world will definitely benefit.
