Explorer was introduced by Ford in the early 1990s. Its release coincided with the popularity that SUVs had started gaining in America. It was immediately accepted on its release and played a role in popularizing SUVs. There were SUVs earlier too but at this time people's perception of SUVs had completely changed. They were now regarded as something more than a mere means of transportation. Explorer is a midsize SUV which besides being comfortable and stylish is also affordable. There was a great demand for it in 1990s as is clear from its sales record. About 400000 of these were sold in each year. Since then it has been further improved. Its power has been increased yet it is quieter. It looks better and is also better equipped with devices like a navigation system and rear seat DVD system. It is a spacious vehicle able to seat up to seven passengers and has ample cargo space.

The later versions of Explorer have been made safer by the introduction of stability control, antilock brakes, and air bags at the required places. There are other safety features which are not so obvious, like Explorer headlights. Headlights ...
... illuminate the road when it is dark at night or when the visibility is poor due to fog or other reasons. They enable the driver of a vehicle to clearly see other traffic or obstacles on the road and proceed safely by avoiding them. There are bright sources of light now like LED lights, Xenon lights, and halogen lights which cast a beam of light up to a longer distance and add to the utility of headlights. For a driver headlights are a safety feature but for the onlookers they are an object of attraction and fascination. So headlights have also evolved as a feature of adornment and their designers also treat them as such.

Explorer is now in its third generation and in 2006 its styling has been further revised to look more attractive. You too can add your own style to the SUV and enhance its looks by smartly choosing Explorer head lights. You can see the latest Explorer headlights at www.ilovebodykits.com.
