In the mobile phone manufacturing industry, the name Motorola is a brand that could be said to be recognized internationally, especially in the year when cellular phone companies were competing with each other in order to make their products more compact and ergonomic, or slimmer and sleeker. What made MotoBlur unique is that they integrated social networking sites and features to the phone's OS, enabling users to receive and send status or post updates from or to multiple accounts simultaneously. These updates and notifications take the form of widgets on the Dext's touch screen interface, which the user can manipulate and interact with using the TFT capacitive display. This screen measures 3.1 inches and has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, which is relatively high compared to its peers. Moreover, MotoBlur also boasts of being able to synchronize contacts from these multiple networks into a single list, where profiles with the same name will be linked together, as well as a backup list will be saved in the online server.

What's Inside?

Hardware wise, the Dext is far from lacking, as it sports a full QWERTY keypad hidden beneath the sliding front panel of the phone, making it easy for text messaging or writing notes. Due to the full keys it possesses, the Motorola Cliq is rather bulky for a mobile device, measuring 114mm x 58mm with a thickness of 15.6mm, so this could be a little conspicuous when kept inside pockets. But inside the bulk a 5.0 megapixel auto focus camera can also be found, along with a microSD card slot that can support up to 32GB of storage space. Resolutions of images stored on the phone can be up to 2592 x 1944 pixels.

Even if this particular mobile phone is quite heavy and not exactly the epitome of sleek and slim (the unit weighs 163 grams), it still packs a lot of punch in its built-in features. Like any good smartphone, the Motorola DEXT MB220 can recognize several audio and video formats, namely mp3, eAAC+, WAV, and WMA9 formats and MP4, H.263, H.264, and WMV9 file types respectively. For completely or almost noiseless phone calls, the unit has a dedicated microphone to reduce ambient sounds. The unit also has GPS and A-GPS support for geographic or driving needs, as well as a digital compass.
