1 Kota Tinggi Waterfalls
Kota Tinggi Waterfalls in Johor, a popular weekend destination for locals, is a must-visit when you’re in Malaysia. It’s about a four-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur and features two waterfalls at the same location. The one near the entrance is a beautiful cascading waterfall with pools below, while the other is a powerful free-falling cascade deeper in the valley. Visitors can enjoy a pleasant walk to reach the latter, and the man-made slides near Kuala Lumpur make it a fun spot for both kids and adults. Be cautious, though—the rocks in this waterfall can be slippery due to green algae.

2 Mahua Waterfall
Mahua Waterfall, one of Malaysia’s most elegant waterfalls, offers picturesque views as you drive up. The road winds through the Crocker Range, occasionally narrowing. At the top, ample parking awaits, and many tourists arrive well-prepared with picnic baskets and swimwear. Follow the brick-lined pathways alongside the falls, surrounded by nature’s bounty. Continue your trek to a bridge where you can see the falls, then head down to the bottom where it forms a large pool.

3 Temurun Waterfall
Temurun Waterfall, also known as Air Terjun Temurun, is the highest waterfall in Malaysia. Nestled amidst lush tropical surroundings, this three-tier waterfall offers a refreshing escape from the humid weather. The first tier is a short walk from the car park and features a shallow pool where children can play and swim. Climbing 10 meters of steps leads to the topmost tier, boasting a 30-meter drop and a pool with a 100-foot waterfall. Visitors are rewarded with splendid views and a natural pool at the base.
