ELIGIBILITY OF UDYAM REGISTRATION

These criteria are based on two main factors: investment in plant and machinery or equipment (for manufacturing and service sectors, respectively), and annual turnover. Manufacturing Enterprises:
Micro Enterprise:
Investment in plant and machinery does not exceed Rs. 1 crore.
Small Enterprise:
Investment in plant and machinery is more than Rs. 1 crore but does not exceed Rs. 10 crore.
Medium Enterprise:
Investment in plant and machinery is more than Rs. 10 crore but does not exceed Rs. 50 crore.
Service Enterprises:
Micro Enterprise:
Investment in equipment does not exceed Rs. 10 lakh.
Small Enterprise:
Investment in equipment is more than Rs. 10 lakh but does not exceed Rs. 2 crore.
Medium Enterprise:
Investment in equipment is more than Rs. 2 crore but does not exceed Rs. 5 crore.
Turnover Criteria (for both Manufacturing and Service Enterprises):
The turnover of the enterprise should not exceed Rs. 5 crore for Micro enterprises, Rs. 50 crore for Small enterprises, and Rs. 250 crore for Medium enterprises.
Additional Points to Note:
Calculation Basis:
The investment in plant and machinery/equipment and turnover are to be calculated based on the latest audited financial statements or the GST returns filed by the enterprise.
Exclusions:
The following types of entities are not eligible for Udyam registration:
Companies involved in providing financial services such as banks and NBFCs.
Educational institutions.
Entities engaged in activities such as real estate development, retail trade, etc., as specified under the MSME Act.
