Acoustic cloud panels are just like acoustic wall panels as they are made from the same materials, but they are mounted in different ways. Ceiling clouds are hung down from the ceiling using airline wire.
Acoustic cloud panels are generally used where wall panels can’t be used, or they are used along with wall panels in places where reverberation is high. They assist more with echo absorption as both sides of the panel are available to absorb sound. Ceiling clouds are also popularly used in areas where wall panels would get untidy, which is a common occurrence in restaurants.
Studio wall panels are frequently used on corrugated metal decks, as it can be harder to use other mounting types on the dense metal. The air gap behind the panel enables for echo absorption on both sides of the panel, unlike direct mounted ceiling panels and acoustical wall.
This also keeps them out of view from anyone, like owner, who might ...
... not want any acoustic treatment to actually be visible. For instance, if someone has an exposed back metal ceiling, they generally go for black ceiling clouds to keep people noticing them. Nonetheless, if an owner does want to cell clouds to be noticed, they can choose and accent color form our wide range of colors.
Just like acoustic ceiling clouds, studio wall panels are used when there is not enough wall space available for enough sound absorption. Unlike clouds, there is no air gap  between the dire attach panel and the ceiling, hence while still being effective, they don’t absorb much sound as the clouds.
Sound baffles ceiling
Sound baffles ceiling and directly attached ceiling panels both use a different type anchors to hang. The anchor is screwed directly into the exposed fiberglass on the back of the panel. For ceiling clouds, the anchor protrudes and comes with an eyelet on the end, ad a cable is used to connect the anchor to and eye lag bolt that is drilled into the ceiling.
For directly attached ceiling panels, the anchor is screwed into the back of the panel until it sits flush with the fiberglass. It is then snapped on the corresponding hardware that has been properly placed on the ceiling, enabling for the panel to directly attach to the ceiling without an air gap.
When you should use acoustic panels
Regardless if you require sound absorbing panels on the walls, ceiling or both, when a space has too much reverberation, this is when you should install acoustic panels.
Conclusion
In a nutshell, you can use ceiling clouds and construction panels in spaces that might not have enough wall space for sufficient acoustic wall panels to substantially lessen the reverberation. This is common in more industrial style spaces that have corrugated metal ceilings, like gyms, contemporary offices and restaurants.
