Sugarcrm Acquires Sales-i To Enhance Customer Sales Profitability, Drive Intelligent Account Management

SugarCRM, renowned for its award-winning, intelligence-driven sales automation platform, has officially announced its acquisition of sales-i, a prominent provider of revenue intelligence solutions designed to help businesses maximize revenue and profitability. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This acquisition follows nearly a year after SugarCRM and sales-i entered into a partnership aimed at enhancing B2B sales performance. By integrating AI-powered revenue intelligence with a business’s ERP system and CRM data, this collaboration has provided businesses with actionable insights that improve sales, marketing, service, and support, leading to increased revenue and customer retention.

Craig Charlton, CEO of SugarCRM, stated, "We are merging two exceptional companies with complementary products and a shared vision for customer success. Stephen Hurrell, Research Director at ISG’s Ventana Research, emphasized the importance of the integration, noting, "The current focus on margin and the rise of subscription and usage-based pricing models are reshaping business economics. Relying solely on CRM data for account management is insufficient. Upselling and cross-selling to existing customers, which is more profitable than acquiring new ones, requires a deeper understanding of customer relationships. This announcement from SugarCRM addresses this need across various industries."

Businesses often face the challenge of sifting through vast amounts of sales data to identify cross-sell or upsell opportunities and ensure existing customers meet their buying commitments. To tackle this, sales-i has functioned as a sales revenue intelligence tool, capturing crucial insights from customers' ERP systems and sharing this data with the SugarCRM platform. This combination allows businesses to gain specific insights into trends and relationships with their customers.

With a combined workforce of over 550 employees worldwide, the merged entity aims to help customers unlock the value of their ERP data. Key benefits include:
