Terra Drone Corporation, a leading drone and AAM technology provider based in Japan, has partnered with Unifly NV and Aloft Technologies Inc. to develop UAS Traffic Management (UTM) for AAMs targeting global markets. This collaboration is the first of its kind, bringing together companies with extensive experience in UTM implementation and operation. The announcement was made at the XPONENTIAL 2024 expo in San Diego.

The joint UTM development is driven by the rapid progress of eVTOLs, which are set to revolutionize transportation. The UAM market is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2040 and $9 trillion by 2050, according to Morgan Stanley. eVTOLs have been capturing public interest through test flights and prototype showcases.

Terra Drone, Unifly, and Aloft are well-suited for this collaboration, with their decade-long experience in UTM development. Terra Drone is the second-largest drone solution provider globally, while Unifly has a strong track record in UTM implementation at the national level. Aloft holds over 84% of the UTM market in the U.S., the largest market for drones and eVTOLs.
