The Ugly Truth About Brides, Bridesmaids And The Dresses Behind It

Scouring through my old pictures, it was such a nightmare to stumble upon one picture of me as a bridesmaid. The dress was so horrible looking, and that must have probably the reason why I can't even remember a single thing about that wedding but the gown itself. The cloth was in a shiny mint green with all these ruffled layers on the skirt and sleeves, and had a big bow on the rear end. Not to mention, it was itchy all over. I'm pretty sure every girl has that kind of horrifying experience. But just like every loyal girl friend or female cousin, I had no choice but to gamely wear that bridesmaid's dress.

If you are a bride yourself reading this, it is quite understandable that you would want to be the lone star of your wedding. You would not want other pretty ladies, especially your bridesmaids frolicking around, stealing your show. Of course, no matter how much of a good lady you are (or what you portray yourself to be to your husband's and in-law's eyes), like the queen in the popular story Snow White, there is always that witch in you that will do everything to make you the fairest of all. So, you resort to the most ...
... subtle ways, the mirror-mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all strategy. The mirror talks back, and gives you the perfect plan- make your bridesmaids' dresses look like they just came out from clown town!

Now I must say, that's harsh. It's something that isn't surprising though, given that in this day and age, it's already a woman's world. Especially in weddings, it's not all pretty and sparkling. Brides will do anything to be the best looking woman on that special day, even if it means having to pick out the worst looking dress for their bridesmaids just so that the bride's beauty would stand out more.

If you're one of those unfortunate girls like me who happen to fall victim to a mirror-chanting evil queen bride, this may be an ugly truth to accept. Especially if you have more bridesmaids role to fulfill for the next few months or years.

The ugly truth in the magical world of wedding events is that a bride will always have her beautiful smile, beautiful dress and her magical mirror. Don't even try to fool yourself, when it's your turn, you'll want your own magical mirror too.
