Maverix Medical Acquires Cirrus Bio For Lung Cancer Diagnostics

Maverix Medical, a lung cancer platform established by Ajax Health, KKR, and Hologic, Inc., has made an undisclosed acquisition of Cirrus Bio. Cirrus Bio is known for developing and introducing multiomic solutions for the diagnosis and management of diseases where early detection is crucial. The founders of Cirrus Bio, David Mallery (CEO) and Scott Morris (CSO), have a history of founding and leading successful companies in the medical field.

In addition to the acquisition, Maverix has also announced the creation of a dedicated diagnostic division called Maverix Dx. This division will focus on developing, investing in, acquiring, and bringing to market a range of diagnostic tools specifically for lung cancer. David Mallery will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Maverix Dx, while Scott Morris will be the Chief Scientific Officer. They will continue to drive innovation in diagnostic technologies and pursue strategic investments.

Cirrus Bio is the second major product platform for Maverix, following the announcement of Serpex Medical. Serpex Medical has developed steerable technologies that have received 510k clearance for precise targeting of lung tissue for biopsy or therapy delivery. Serpex will continue to be the foundation for Maverix's medical device division, known as Maverix Med Device, led by its founder and CEO.
