iPhones have evolved beyond just communication devices. They have become essential tools that facilitate our daily routines and help us be more efficient. Over the years, they have also become more power efficient. However, if you are a power user, you might often find your phone out of juice before the end of the day. This is why maximizing battery life is crucial. Whether it's your Apple, iPad, or MacBook, preserving battery health is key to ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

“Battery life” refers to the duration of time a device can operate before requiring a recharge, while “battery lifespan” indicates the overall longevity of the battery before it needs to be replaced. Understanding the nuances of both these terms is important for maximizing the performance and usage of your Apple devices.

Maximize Your iPhone’s Battery Life
1. Update to the latest software.
Apple optimizes its OS with every update, so to get the best battery life, it is highly recommended that you make sure that you are on the latest iOS version.

If you ...
... are using iOS 5 or later, Go to Settings > General > Software Update
If there is an update available, you can plug your iPhone into a power source and update.

2. Optimize your settings.
There are two easy ways you save the battery life of your iPhone.

Adjust Brightness: Instead of keeping your brightness to the max all the time, you can dim it from the Control Center or enable auto-brightness from Settings > Accessibility to save battery.
Use Wi-Fi: Cellular network consumes significantly more power than Wi-Fi. This is why you should use Wi-Fi instead of Cellular.

3. Low Power Mode
When your iPhone's battery level drops to 20% or 10%, it prompts you to enable Low Power Mode. This mode is easily accessible with a single tap or through the Settings menu (Settings > Battery). By activating Low Power Mode, your iPhone optimizes device performance, reduces display brightness, and minimizes system animations to conserve battery power.

3. View Battery Usage Information
iOS allows you to view app battery usage. Background Activity indicates the app used battery while in the background. Location and Background Location indicates the app is using location services. Home & Lock Screen indicates the Home/Lock screen was displayed. No Cell Coverage and Low Signal indicate poor cell coverage or low signal conditions.
