All people in a country have rights. Different sectors usually have their own set of rights. One major sector that often figures in disputes over rights accorded to them is the labor sector. In fact, the Canadian government has instituted the Canada Labour Code that gives the employees different rights.

The first right accorded to them is the right to know. This is your right as an employee to know and understand whether or not your job would entail some danger or not. It becomes the company's duty to inform you of the instructions in using a machine. It also grants you access to reports that are related to the health of employees.

Another right is the right to participate. This is the right of the employees to identify and correct any concern with regards to health. If the company that you are working for has 300 employees, then you are allowed to form a committee that will handle health and safety concerns.

The right to refuse is another statutory right that was given or endowed to you. For a reasonable cause, you are given the right to actually refuse work if you think or believe that the work would ...
... present a hazard to you. In fact, you can take the cudgels and inform the managerial levels if there is hazard to others. If the management would not hear you, or violates this right, then it would be the appropriate time to seek labour lawyer Ottawa has.

These three rights are statutory and could not just be taken away from you. Seeking the help of a labour lawyer Ottawa has will be the right move, most especially if your rights as an employee are not recognized. There are times when your employer would not allow you to form an organization; however, this cannot be since this is your right.

Any labour lawyer Ottawa has understands the importance of asserting your rights as an employee.
