IBM unveiled initiatives utilizing geospatial AI technologies for climate efforts globally. Leveraging models co-developed with NASA, these efforts target UAE's urban heat islands, Kenya's reforestation, and climate resiliency in the UK. The AI models, trained on satellite data, aid in accelerating discovery of environmental insights and solutions by representing vast climate-related data. The UAE project reduced heat island effects by 3°C, while Kenya aims to plant 15 billion trees aided by a digital platform. In the UK, IBM collaborates to assess aviation impacts and mitigate urban flooding. IBM and NASA are also working on an AI model for weather applications.
