The team behind the Implementation of Indiahandmade.com
Digital India Corporation is the organisation behind the design, development and implementation of this exclusive portal dedicated to Indian handmade handloom & handicrafts. The portal was launched on 22nd Apr 2023 by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. In these past 12 months, the DIC team has worked relentlessly to structure and establish this beautiful e-commerce portal dedicated to authentic handmade items. The team also handles complete operations ensuring seamless & timely delivery of the ordered items.
The DIC Team is further supported by the WSCs and HSCs officers and their team locally at grassroot level. They communicate about this ecommerce portal to artisans and weavers present across India. They also assist these artisans, who might not be digitally proactive, in various processes related to selling their products online – like creating awareness about the Indiahandmade platform, assisting them to register, product uploading, attending training sessions, and sometimes, even connecting them with the DIC team for queries and resolution of technical issues.
For sellers, all systems & processes are properly documented to make sure the sellers know what they need to do and how. Regular awareness and training sessions are being held to familiarize the sellers with the Indiahandmade registration process, product upload, pricing, packaging, photography, and legal policies for goods management & delivery. A well-trained customer care team has also been deployed to take complaints/queries and resolve issues of the buyers and the sellers. Marketing and promotion are done through various channels which include press, exhibitions, & social media.
As the buyers get a trusted online shop to purchase hand-crafted items, the artisans get their own free-of-cost “Digital Dukan” with a personal seller Dashboard. At present, the shipping cost is taken care of by the Ministry of Textiles, hence, neither the seller nor the buyer needs to worry about shipping or delivery fees. Moreover, there is zero platform fees, no hidden charges, or any other deduction of money, so the artisans get the full amount transferred into their bank accounts after the return window is closed.
Choose Indiahandmade.com for handcrafted items and illuminate the households of the artisans who, with their unique art, are illuminating not just the country, but the whole world!
