Jabil Inc. (NYSE: JBL), a preeminent provider of design, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions across the globe, recently shared some noteworthy news on the company's operations. Jabil is going to take over the production, sale, and development of future generations of pluggable optical transceiver product lines that are based on Silicon Photonics. Intel will work closely with Jabil, customers, and suppliers to facilitate a seamless transition as it shifts its focus to silicon photonics components for existing markets and emerging applications. As a result of this move, Intel will be able to focus on the development of silicon photonics components, while Jabil will be responsible for the production and research and development of optical transceiver modules.
