Playa Del Carmen Real Estate Least Expensive Home Vs. Most Expensive

If you are just beginning your search for Playa del Carmen real estate, you are probably wondering what price range you're looking at. The price range in Playa del Carmen listings is very broad, ranging from the little 1 bedroom "casitas" built for lower income working class Mexicans getting their first home to luxury mansions on the beach; to help you get a feel for what's out there, here's an overview of the lowest priced home that would have appeal to American and Canadian buyers, one of the most expensive on the market, and one right in the middle.
The Least Expensive Home - $52,000 USD
While there are definitely cheaper homes for sale here (as low as $30,000 for those little home mentioned above), among those that hold appeal for the lifestyle that expats are usually looking for, this is a very well priced 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in the community of Paamul. As a very small community, it is quiet and safe, with 24 hour security. It is only steps away from the beach, and is about a 30 minute drive away from all the services, restaurants and nightlife ...
... of Playa del Carmen. Along the way are many of the area's eco-tourism activities (eco-parks, snorkeling, diving, marinas, etc.) as well as world-class golf courses.
Right in the middle - $495,000 USD
The range between $50,000 and $500,000 includes many excellent homes to choose from, this home with $40,000 price reduction offers an excellent taste for the luxury available in this middle ground price range. With a 5170 sq. ft. lot, 3900 sq. ft. of construction, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an intercom, parking for 4 cars (2 of them shaded), luxury installations such as granite counters and mini-split air-conditioners, this home offers all the comfort you need in life. It is on a golf course in the upscale, safe, gated community of Puerto Aventuras, and a short walk from a marina, commercial area with restaurants and a "swim with the dolphins."
Most Expensive home - $2.2 Million
There are more expensive homes than this one, but this one is near the top, and worth every dollar you pay for it. Casa Caribe is in the exclusive Playacar Phase I, directly on the beachfront. It includes a 9700 sq. ft. lot and 7,550 sq. ft. of construction, with four bedrooms, five bathrooms an extra entertainment room, studio, a kitchen fully equipped with the most up-to-date installations, an oceanfront pool, a shaded lounge area, and very tastefully landscaped tropical gardens. Of course, the views of the ocean are spectacular. It is located very close to the entrance to Playacar; while enjoying the security of a gated community, you can walk downtown and to Fifth Avenue, famous for its restaurants and bars, in only 5 minutes, either on the road, or along the beach. The beaches at this point were recently restored to their original width, providing huge amounts of beach space to enjoy.
Of course, besides the large choice of homes in between, Playa del Carmen real estate MLS listings offer many condos and land purchase options in a variety of excellent locations, and in all price ranges.
