Chandrayaan 3 Landing Successful!

On Wednesday evening, India achieved a significant milestone as the ISRO's lunar craft, Chandrayaan-3, made a soft landing on the Moon's south polar region. This accomplishment marked India as the first country to achieve this feat, propelling it into the league of the US, China, and Russia as the fourth nation to successfully land on the lunar surface.

ISRO has been actively sharing videos and images of the Chandrayaan-3 mission's Vikram lander and Pragyan rover on various social media platforms. In its most recent update, ISRO stated that the Pragyan Rover had covered a distance of eight meters on the moon's surface. A video was released by ISRO showing the Pragyan rover rolling off the Chandrayaan-3 Vikram lander using a two-segment ramp, as well as the ramp and solar panel deployment prior to the rover's descent.

On August 23rd, at 6:04 PM (IST), the Chandrayaan-3 lander touched down near the center of the targeted 4.5-kilometer-wide landing area. The actual landing point was within 300 meters (985 feet) of the intended location. ISRO's chairman confirmed that the Pragyan rover was operational and performing admirably on the lunar surface. Over a span of 14 days, the Chandrayaan-3 Rover is set to conduct a series of experiments, including an analysis of the mineral composition of the Moon's surface.
