Are you going on a trip? Let’s guess: you are confused about choosing the proper power plug adapter for your trip, right? Do not worry. We've got you covered. In this article, we will discuss the various types of adapters based on the region. The type of adaptor varies according to the destination of your visit, as different countries have different connectivity systems. And you need to carry them based on the requirements of the place you are travelling to. So just check out the list below and let your doubts get cleared!

Types of Power Plug Adapters Based on Location
The various adapters you can choose from while travelling are explained in the list below:

Universal Plug Adapter

Universal Plug Adapter or International Power Cord is the best option if you are always travelling and exploring different countries. These cords do not have a specific end for connectivity. One can switch the connecting tip according to the requirements, making it very easy ...
... and convenient to use. International Power Cords are very much in demand nowadays, and the prices are affordable too. A one-time investment is better than several random expenditures.

Type C Adapter
A type C adapter typically has two circular teeth. It is suitable for equipment with a rating of 230–250 volts. The teeth of the adapter are unpolarized, which can be fatal to carelessness. The Type C adapter is also known as Europlug because of its origin and its intensity of use in the European region. These adapters can be helpful if your tour destination is France, Germany, Italy, or other European areas.

Type A Adapter

Type A adapters typically have two flat teeth, unlike the Type C adapter. It is suitable for equipment with a rating of 100–130 volts. This type of adapter must only be used with equipment that does not need ground connectivity. The attachment plug is a flat blade, which is mainly seen in the American regions. So, if your travel destination is the USA, make sure you carry a Type A adapter.

Type B Adapter

The Type B adapter is similar to the Type A adapter in that it has two flat teeth. But it also has circular teeth, which serve a grounding purpose. So, these adapters can be used without worrying if your device needs a ground connection or not. The neutral pin is thicker than the live pin. This is to make sure that the plug is correctly and tightly fixed to the socket. Type B adapters are actively popular in many regions like Japan, the USA, Mexico, Canada, and many more.

Type G Adapter

The Type G adapter is very different from others in terms of design. This adapter has three rectangular pins. It is suitable for equipment with a rating of 220–250 volts. The Type G adapter contains a fuse that protects the cable from high-intensity current or faulty circuits. It is mainly seen in the Britain regions, so if you are planning to visit the UK or countries like Singapore and Hong Kong, make sure you carry one of these.

Type D Adapter

This type of adapter is widely used in India and its nearby areas like Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc. It consists of three teeth, or pins, that are completely circular and are arranged in a triangular structure. The topmost pin, or the ground connection pin, is thicker in diameter than the other two, which are fully identical. It is suitable for equipment with a rating of 230–250 volts.

Type I Adapter

The Type I adapter consists of three flat teeth that are arranged in a triangular structure on the plug. It is suitable for equipment with a rating of 220–250 volts. This type of adapter is quite similar to Type G, but both of them should not be confused. The Type I adapter is mostly used in New Zealand, China, Australia, and Argentina.

Other Regional Adapters
Many more types of adapters are widely used in many regions, like Type E and Type F (European Countries), Type J (Switzerland), Type M (South Africa, Singapore, and India), etc. Be sure to check the type you need before you depart for your delightful journey.
Power Plug Adapter or Voltage Converter- Which is Better?
A voltage converter can be useful for regulating the voltage of the current received by your device. It can be helpful if you are expecting voltage issues according to your device's rating in different regions. But the main problem is the type of socket, which is different in different countries. Regulating the voltage would be useless if you didn't know what type of socket is mostly in use at your travel destination. Therefore, choosing a power plug adapter over a voltage converter is a better idea.

Conclusion
Hope you have checked the list and have got some idea about which adapter is suitable for which place. Be sure to check out the kind of adapter you are planning at your trip destination so that your electrical appliances work well during the trip. Have a great journey!
