Introduction
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is one of the most important components of many renewable energy systems. There are several types of BESS in the world, which are lithium-ion battery, nickel-metal hydride battery and lead acid battery. Lithium-ion batteries have higher energy density than other batteries and can be used for longer periods of time without being replaced. However, they also have a lower power density than other types of batteries. In addition to this problem, lithium-ion batteries are also expensive due to their complicated manufacturing process. Lead acid batteries have high power density but low energy density because they use heavy materials such as lead plates or cast iron shells to store electricity as chemical potential energy in a liquid electrolyte solution; however these solutions may corrode over time if not properly maintained thus reducing capacity after several years even if no damage was incurred beforehand since corrosion slowly accumulates over time eventually causing premature ...

Functions of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a new type of energy storage system that uses batteries to store and release electrical energy. The main structure of a BESS is composed by an array of battery cells, controlled by an electronic controller, which regulates the flow of current into or out from its terminals in order to charge or discharge these cells accordingly.
The advantages of BESS are numerous: it can provide power for homes during blackouts; it allows businesses to keep operating in case of an outage; it helps utilities avoid costly infrastructure upgrades; and it reduces emissions produced by fossil-fueled generators at peak demand times when there's no wind available for wind farms--or sunlight for solar panels.

The ESC industry therefore includes all companies that manufacture batteries used for storing electricity generated by renewables but also those who design them into products such as solar panels etcetera where they act like microgrids that can operate independently from main grids when needed (e g blackouts).
