By medical consumable devices, doctors refer to those items used by doctors, and nurses of a medical institution to treat their patients. It is an important part of the medical profession that helps doctors and nurses to provide proper treatment and care to their patients. From doctors' chambers to labs, everywhere there are different types of equipment you can notice. 
People won't have much idea of what medical consumables products are there in the hospitals. From small needles to medication, everything falls under the category and you cannot exclude anything from this list. Different treatment requires a different set of medical consumables. But for a brief idea, we will share a list of general medical consumable devices that are used in hospitals.

Also, each and every time we went to a hospital to see a doctor for a check-up, the first thing they do is to take a note of the blood pressure level. There are BP monitors and cuffs to do the reading. Also, some doctors prefer to test via manual BP machines.

Since after covid hit us, oximeters have become one of the most common medical consumables products used every time patients visit a hospital for a health checkup. This machine shows the oxygen saturation level. 


Gauze


Gauze is the next item on our list of general medical consumables. Different sizes of Gauze bandages are available in hospitals that we can often see. They are used for covering up wounds after dressing. 


Glucometer


Glucometers are used to check the blood sugar levels of the patients. Nowadays almost 8.7% population of the world is diabetic.  So, it's obvious that most hospitals have glucometers with them as general medical consumables. 


IV Infusion Kit & IV Bags


IV infusion kits and bags are another very popular medical equipment that is commonly used in hospitals. Most of the patients who are admitted to the hospital have to take medicines through IV drips. IV infusion kit helps to channel the procedure. 


Surgical Gloves


No matter which hospital you are in, doctors won't treat you until they wear gloves on their hands. These gloves are used to maintain hygiene during treatment. 


Surgical Masks


After corona, doctors used to wear surgical masks 24*7. Corona has surpassed but this practice has become a habit for the doctors. Since in hospitals a large number of patients visit every day, wearing surgical masks is very important to avoid spreading germs. This is another important medical consumables product used in hospitals.


Surgical Cap


Surgical caps are worn by doctors during operations or the treatment of surgical patients. It is a commonly found medical instrument of all time. 


Trays


Medical trays are a must-available option in every hospital. They are used for multiple purposes to carry medicines, patients' food, testing samples, carrying equipment and a lot more. Different types of trays are available for different purposes. 


Sanitisers


Nowadays sanitisers are a must and used by every medical professional. Whether you are in a hospital or in a private chamber, you will see your doctor using this item quite often to make their hands germ-free. It is another very useful medical consumable product used in every hospital nowadays.

Seizures are commonly used instruments in the medical profession. Hence, you can count them as general medical consumables products


General Medicine


Hospitals also keep a stock of generic medicines like flu, painkillers, diarrhoea, Anastasia, asthma etc. These medicines are used in emergencies of patients and hence can be counted as medical consumables.
