More than good skincare products are needed on their own: You need to use your items in the right sequence for maximum efficacy. Time of day, skin type, product ingredients, and formulations all affect how you should care for your face. However, since thinner products won't be able to penetrate thicker ones, it's generally best to apply them in the order of increasing thickness.

The Optimal Nine-Step Skincare Process

An effective skincare routine involves the following steps:

1. Wash your face.

After washing your face with water:

• Dry your hands and rub a dime-sized amount of mild face cleanser UAE between them every morning and night.

• After washing your face with a cleanser, rinse your hands and
face thoroughly with water.

• Use a gentle towel to pat your face dry.
Before bed, makeup users may need to cleanse twice. To begin, use a cleansing oil or micellar water to take off all of your makeup. Leave eye-makeup removers on for a few minutes if you want to get rid of your eye makeup without touching ...
... your eyes. After that, you should wash your entire face very gently.

2. Apply toner.

Before doing anything else, use toner after you've washed your face. Apply toner to your face by pouring a small amount onto your palms or a cotton pad. Use only at night if your toner contains exfoliating chemicals like glycolic acid, eliminating dead skin cells. You can use a hydrating mixture twice daily. Retinoids and other exfoliators should not be used alongside exfoliating toner.

3. Apply serum.

Antioxidant serums, like a brightening vitamin c serum, are best applied in the morning since they protect the skin from free radicals that will be present throughout the day. Applying a moisturising face serum with hyaluronic acid serum before bed is a good idea if you use anti-ageing or acne treatments that might irritate and dry up the skin. Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and lactic acid are examples of exfoliants found in face serums.

4. Apply eye cream.

Although regular moisturiser can be used around the eyes, specialised eye creams are often applied as a second layer because they are thinner. To reduce morning puffiness, use an eye cream with a metal roller-ball applicator chilled overnight. Eyes may appear swollen in the morning after using a moisturising eye moisturiser at night due to fluid retention.

5. Use spot treatment.

Acne spot treatments are most effective at night when the body is healing. Avoid using other acne treatments on top of retinol serum to avoid irritation. This includes benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Instead, take all necessary measures to maintain a tranquil and hydrated complexion.

6. Moisturise.

Moisturiser serves two purposes: it moisturises the skin and prevents other products from absorbing into the skin. Find a non-greasy morning face moisturizer, preferably with SPF 30 or higher. A heavier night face cream can be used at night. Those who have dry skin can consider applying a Skin moisturizer twice a day.

7. Apply retinoid.

However, retinoids (including retinol) can be irritating, especially for sensitive skin, as they increase skin-cell turnover, which causes dark spots, breakouts, and fine lines to fade. You should only apply retinoids at night because they degrade in sunlight. Sunscreen is essential because it increases your skin's sensitivity to the sun.

8. Apply face oil.

If you use a face oil, put it on last because it will prevent any other skin care products from penetrating your skin.

9. Apply sunscreen.

Even though it's the last step in the process, dermatologists universally regard sun protection as crucial. Skin cancer and the visible effects of ageing can be avoided by taking precautions against sun exposure. You should still use sunscreen for UAE, even if your moisturiser does not have SPF. If you're using a chemical sunscreen, give it 20 minutes to set in before heading outside. Choose a sunblock with a high SPF that blocks UVA and UVB rays.

Conclusion

You should look forward to (or at least feel good about) your skincare routine. These measures will ensure that your skin receives the proper care throughout the year, leaving you with glowing, radiant skin. The face wash, moisturising, and protecting your skin from the sun with a mild routine covers all the bases. Brightening, moisturising, and nourishing can all get a boost from serums and resurfacing solutions.
