Our success story revolves around providing exceptional treatment for children aged 2 to 17 years old who are affected by cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that impacts a child's movement, motor skills, and muscle tone. Typically, it occurs due to brain damage that occurs before or shortly after birth.

IIAHP specialized treatment focuses on addressing the coordination and movement difficulties associated with cerebral palsy. Additionally, we consider the potential effects on hearing, vision, and sensation, making early intervention crucial for effective management.

We offer a range of therapies that cater to the mental, physical, social, and educational needs of individuals with cerebral palsy. Starting therapy early after diagnosis can significantly reduce impairments and the risk of developing related conditions.

It's important to note that therapy also benefits parents and caregivers. For instance, behavioral therapy helps parents understand the advantages of positive reinforcement, while nutrition therapy educates them about specific dietary requirements.

It's important to understand that not every therapy is suitable for everyone, and the best treatment options depend on the type and severity of the disorder. Collaborative efforts between parents and healthcare providers yield the best results when working towards a common goal.

Cerebral Palsy Types:
Spastic Cerebral Palsy: This is the most common form, accounting for approximately 79% of all cases. Symptoms and characteristics of spastic CP include delayed milestones in walking, crawling, and sitting, unusual movements, stiff muscles, increasing stiffness with movement, difficulty controlling individual muscles, and transitioning between positions.

Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy: This type affects around 3% of cases and is characterized by repetitive twisting motions (dystonia), slow writhing movements (athetosis), unpredictable irregular movements (chorea), and awkward posture.

Ataxic Cerebral Palsy: This is the least common type and primarily affects balance and coordination. Individuals with ataxic CP may experience difficulties with walking and fine motor skills such as writing and grasping objects.

Hypotonic Cerebral Palsy: This type is characterized by reduced muscle tone, causing floppy movements in the hands and feet. Children may appear like rag dolls, and they may experience breathing difficulties. As they grow, weak muscles can lead to challenges with sitting straight, speaking, and walking.

Mixed Cerebral Palsy: Some individuals have a combination of symptoms from different types, known as mixed CP. This typically involves a mixture of spastic and dyskinetic CP symptoms.

Our comprehensive treatment approach encompasses the best techniques for managing all these types of cerebral palsy. We are committed to helping children with cerebral palsy lead fulfilling lives by providing tailored therapies and support.
