As you might have seen from the first part of our article, Rio de Janeiro is the home of many important events. July is no exception which is why we will continue to bring you updated information about the most important events that will occur in Rio this July.

On the 18th, the city will organize the Rio de Janeiro City Marathon at which it is estimated that 18,000 people will participate. The marathon will have 42km and will kick off at 7 30 in the morning at Recreio dos Bandeirantes and shall go through the city's paradisiacal scenery of mountains and sea. The competition, once more, shall be divided into three segments: Marathon (42km), Half-Marathon (21km) and Family Run (6km). Here is the complete schedule of the marathon:

Family Run - 6km

8am - Start: Aterro do Flamengo
11am- Awarding
Meia-Maratona - 21km
7am - Start: Praia do Pepe/Barra
11am - Awarding (na chegada no Aterro do Flamengo)
Maratona - 42km
7:30am - Start: (Praça Tim Maia, Recreio)
11am- Awarding (na chegada no Aterro do Flamengo)

From the 21st until the 23th, Rio de Janeiro will host ...
... the 2010 edition of the International Education Congress. For this year, the theme will be Children Education: new paradigms in contemporary society, and will be debated through workshops, round tables and lectures. The venue for the congress will be Escola da Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - EMERJ - Rua General Canabarro.

On July 22nd through the 24th, Rio will host the Full Gospel Businessmen Association Convention. Hosted at Riocentro - GL Events Centro de Convenções - Av. Salvador Allende, 6.555 - Jacarepaguá, there will be meetings between evangelical businessmen,authorities,and liberal professionals.

On the 26th of the same month until the 30th, the 65th ABM Congress - The Brazilian Association of the Steel Industry and Materials will be organized at Hotel Inter-Continental Rio - Av. Aquarela do Brasil, 75 - São Conrado. It is considered to be the largest discussion forum in the steel-mining industry in Latin America; the Congress presents the best practices of our industries, as well as current themes (Leaders Forum).This event gathers the most relevant suppliers and service providers in the industry.

On the last day of the month, this wonderful city will be the home of the Sweepstake - Brazilian Grand Prix Horse Race. The event will end on August the 2nd. It will be organized at the following address: Hipódromo da Gávea do Jockey Club Brasileiro - Praça Santos Dumont, 31 - Gávea. Here is the complete program of this important event:
