Taking Supplements To Accelerate Ketosis
What is ketosis, and why does it interest so many people all over the world? For those that have not necessarily studied it, it immediately reminds them of a related topic, which is the keto diet, for instance, which many people have indeed heard of, and may even be following to get rid of unwanted body fat.
This diet has millions of followers and is mentioned for helping people to lose weight, which is the aim of many. So keto and ketosis are related in the sense that they both zoom in on fat, with the difference being that one is a diet and the other a metabolic state, even though in layman’s terms they both are mentioned for their role in fat in the human body. Ketosis is a state that millions of grownups aspire to since it is the state during which the body burns fat for energy and not glucose which it normally uses to supply energy to the body.
For many, it makes sense that they would rather be in ketosis so that they use fat as their source of energy and not carbohydrates. This process is put in motion when various systems in the body are employed to work together to ensure that energy reaches every part, ...
... organ, and fiber that needs it. People that eat more than their bodies need, especially carbohydrates, will store these carbs as fat for later use – such as during ketosis, that metabolic state when such stored fat, and not carbohydrates such as glucose, are used to release energy.
This process takes place in the liver where the fats are broken down and from where the energy is sent to other parts of the body. The part of ketones in this process must be looked at. Ketones are chemicals that are naturally made in the body to help with the release of energy – they are known as endogenous ketones. There is another type of ketones referred to as exogenous ketones, in other words, ketones are produced outside the body, as a synthetic process.
These endogenous ketones are then eaten in foods and beverages and sold to the public to consume then when they are keen to burn fat, such as when they exercise for example. In addition to being advantageous for the body during exercise, these ketones also play an important part in other areas such as, say, brain function and trying to understand conditions such as, for example, Alzheimer’s. Research in the latter goes on.
During the process of ketosis, one of the three important ketones, i.e. BHB (beta-hydroxybutyrate) is released to aid the body’s quest for ketosis. Because biologists and scientists understand that BHB can take time to help accelerate ketosis, they concentrate their efforts on bringing a ketone, i.e. an exogenous ketone, to market to help speed up this process safely, fast, and also affordable. This is why San Diego-based Genomatica is experiencing so much success with the ketone they have introduced to the market. It is known as Avela™ and has been painstakingly developed to serve the purpose of a ketone that can accelerate ketosis.
It is therefore a popular ingredient in products such as drinks, food bars, and other food and beverage sources for manufacturers looking at producing supplements containing beta-hydroxybutyrate for a growing market of individuals that understand the benefits of ketosis to their bodies during energy consumption, i.e. to use fat and not the glucose in their bodies.
There is a huge market out there for manufacturers to tap into, to reach those individuals who are keen to use products that are produced to release BHB fast and effectively into their bodies.
About Us
Avela™ is a ground-breaking, revolutionary ketone developed by industry leader Geno. It is a sugar-free ketogenic ingredient that supports ketosis in the human body for use by adults. It naturally raises BHB levels during ketosis and can be used in various products that can be taken by consumers. Geno invites formulators and manufacturers of food and beverage products to liaise with them to acquire this highly sought-after ingredient for inclusion in their products. Geno is a sustainability leader located in the U.S. where they produce Avela™ according to their patented fermentation processes.
