Excess fat is now removed, or fat that may have shifted with time is repositioned to achieve the desired effect, which is to make the area around the eyelid look more attractive again.

The procedure does not take long – rarely longer than an hour for one procedure and, if both eyelids are worked on, no more than three hours. The patient can normally go home the same day; however, they should not drive or try and assume a normal routine immediately. The surgeon sends them home with care instructions and a date for a follow-up visit after, say, ten days.

Even though there may be some discomfort involved, it does not take long and within two weeks or so, you may indeed feel that the blepharoplasty has given you a new lease on life.
