Before printing, you need to test the printer’s compatibility with the page. Many printers are not compatible with certain page types. However, the Canon printer can print at least 30 different paper sizes. These printers are set to print A4 paper type, which is most widely used in homes and offices. You must program the printer if you want to print a different page. Depending on your need, you will have to configure the printer only one document at a time. Hence, you must configure your printer whenever you change the paper type. Let’s see how to change paper size on the Canon printer.

How To Make Temporary Settings For Paper Size?
This method lets you configure the printer to print a particular size in all documents. Printing from devices depends on the operating system you use. But when it comes to printers, the procedure is the same for all.

To make the temporary settings for paper size:

First, you need to right-click on the image of the printer that you wish to configure. There you see many options on the select printing preferences.

Then, the top of the window will open a series of ...
... tabs. From which, you should select tab 3, saying page setup.

Once you select the page type you wish to print from the window’s lower right, choose from the given options and select OK.
Now your printer is set on default with the paper size you have selected.
You can change the format whenever you want.
How To Set A File For A Single Paper Size?
The process is similar. However, the difference is in the location of the configuration. A screen like Microsoft Office will appear whenever you wish to print a document, allowing you to configure what you want to print. There you will get printing preferences along with the configuration option.

How To Select The Correct Media Type?
Setting your printer for the correct media type is crucial as the ink spreads differently according to the media type used. The color production and print quality will be affected if the media type setting doesn’t match the paper you load. Therefore, you need to configure the correct media type for your printer.

Follow the below instructions to select the correct media type in Windows:

First, click “File” in the application you are printing from and then click print.
Then, click “Properties” in the Print dialog box.
The main tab will appear on the screen.
Select your desired media type from the “Media type” section by scrolling the menu.
How To Load Paper In Canon Printer?
Loading paper in Canon printer is very easy. Follow the instructions to load the plain/photo paper in your Canon printer:

Ensure the edges of the paper are fine and not curled.
Then, open the front cover carefully and pull out the paper support.
Now, use the right paper tray to move both paper guides out.
Load the paper or media in the center of the front tray.
Ensure that the printable side is facing down.
Push the paper stack to close the front tray.
Then, slide the right paper guide to adjust the paper guide with both sides of the paper stack. Avoid sliding the paper guide too hard against the paper. Rather fix the papers correctly and try again.
Next, open the output tray extension.
Open the output tray gently and pull out the paper output support.
Why Is My Paper Size Not There In The Drop-Down List For Printing?
If your paper size isn’t included in the drop-down menu, you can set paper size in Windows print server properties to make your paper size available.

To set the paper size, follow the given instructions:

First, check your system’s printer.
You can go to Control Panel> Devices and Printers OR Settings > Printers & Scanners.
Then, choose any printer.
Then, select the print Server Properties from the toolbar above the printers or the Related Settings on the right-hand side.
Now, select the Forms tab.
Click on the “Create a New Form” checkbox.
Type the Width and Height.
Then, press OK.

When you complete the steps, close and re-open the Design to view the custom paper size for printing or saving as a PDF.

Why Is My Printer Showing An “Out Of Paper” Error?
When your printer doesn’t feedfeed paper from the tray for several reasons, an “out of paper” error appears on the screen. The papers might be incorrectly placed, or the software has some issues. The printer may make noise while printing but still remain unable to feed paper. This issue can arise due to dusty paper feed and rollers.

To fix this issue, you can perform certain tasks with your printer. We are giving you the primary solution to fix this. Have a look.

Reset Your Printer
Follow the steps below:

Ensure your printer is turned on and disconnect the power cord from the rear of your printer.
Then, remove the power cord from the wall outlet.
Now, plug the power cord again into the wall outlet.
Reattach the power cord to the printer.

Get A Self-Test Report
Try printing a self-test report. See the steps after this:

If you receive the self-test report, try to print the original documents. If they print well, you don’t need to bother anymore.
If it doesn’t resolve, go for the other options.
If you don’t get a self-test report, find another solution.
