Places To Visit In Mussoorie And Dhanaulti
Mussoorie
Mussoorie is known for its beautiful scenery and natural beauty. It's also known as the Queen of Hills, because of its numerous hills and slopes that make it look like a mountain range. In fact, Mussoorie has been named after Mount Mussoorie in Nepal. The city is located at an altitude of 4500 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest cities in Asia! Kempty Falls
Kempty Falls is a popular tourist destination, located in the Kempty Valley. The falls are at an altitude of 2,300 metres and are a part of a stretch which runs from Dhanaulti to Una.
The area around Kempty Falls has been declared as a national park by Wildlife Institute of India (WII) and it's home to many species including leopards, chinkaras and hyenas.

Sir George Everest's House
Sir George Everest was a British surveyor and geographer, born in 1790. He was the Surveyor General of India from 1843 to his death in 1866. He helped establish the Great Trigonometric Survey of India, which was conducted by Colonel James Rennell between 1841 and 1862 and resulted in accurate maps of India's mountains and plains.
Everest received many awards for his work including knighthoods from both the East India Company and King George IV (who knighted him on 23rd December 1847).
Gun Hill
Gun Hill is a popular tourist destination in Mussoorie. It is located on the way to Dhanaulti and offers a panoramic view of the town. The hill has been named after George Gilbert Scott, an engineer who designed many buildings in London during the 19th century.
Gun Hill was once used as a firing range for soldiers training at nearby Dhanaulti Cantonment but it now serves as a picnic spot for visitors looking for some fresh air after spending their day exploring different parts of Mussoorie!
Happy Valley Tibetan Temple
The Happy Valley Tibetan Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist temple located in Happy Valley, Mussoorie. It was built by the Tibetans who came to India in 1959.
The temple has been renovated and restored several times since then. It is open for visitors on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm (4 pm on Fridays).
