Therefore, we have written this blog to let you know the criteria according to work experience and educational qualifications. However, before you know that we want you to know what ACS is.

What is ACS (the Australian Computer Society)?
The Australian Computer Society is the assessment authority in Australia to assess the capability of prospective migrants with an ICT background for migration purposes. In short, it assesses the IT competency of those who want to work in the Australian ICT field.

Eligibility criteria:
There are different criteria that are dependent on the level of your work experience and educational background. Let’s know them:

You need to complete an Australian Bachelor Degree or higher, and the degree needs to be an ICT Major and closely relevant to the chosen occupation. You don’t need to have worked in the field.

Post Australian Study Skills Assessment:
You need to have an Australian Bachelor Degree or higher. The Australian qualification you have must be an ICT major and closely relevant to the chosen occupation. ...
... In addition, you need to complete 1 year of related post-study work experience or complete the ACS Professional Year program.

Skills:
If having a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and the degree is closely relevant to your occupation, and it is an ICT major, then you need to show 2 years of related work experience in the last 10 years or 4 years of related work experience anytime in the past.
In the case of having a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and the degree is not closely relevant to the chosen occupation, and it is an ICT major, you have to show 4 years of related work experience anytime in the past.

If you have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and the degree is not closely related to the occupation you chose, and it is an ICT minor, show 6 years of related work experience anytime in the past.
If having an Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Associate Degree and the qualification is closely relevant to your occupation and it is an ICT Major, show 5 years of related work experience earned in the last 10 years or 6 years of related work experience anytime in the past.
If having a Diploma, Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma and the qualification is not closely related to your occupation, and it is an ICT major, show 6 years of work experience earned anytime in the past.

RPL:
If having a non-ICT Diploma or higher, you must have at least 6 years of related work experience. Besides that, you need to have a successful RPL Australia assessment.

In the case of not having even any tertiary qualification, you need to have 8 years of related work experience and a successful RPL application.

If you have chosen the RPL pathway, then demonstrate how you attained your ICT knowledge. It requires you to submit 2 project reports. The report must have details about your career episode and must show the ICT knowledge that you gained from a working situation. Besides that, we also advise you to hire a professional RPL ACS report writing professional for a positive RPL Australian Computer Society skills assessment.

Costs and processing time:
It consumes nearly 8 to 10 weeks for the skills assessment. However, if the authority needs additional documents, it may take a much longer time than the standing process time.

Temporary Graduate $475

RPL $550

Post Australian Study Skills Assessment $500

Skills (general application) $500

Only having a clear idea of the eligibility criteria and the pathways will help you attain a positive assessment. In fact, you should hire a professional for a positive Australian Computer Society skills assessment, as the authority rejects applications even on a minor mistake. So, don’t take a risk.
