Distinguishing Between Cannabis' Medical And Recreational Uses

It can be difficult to keep up with the ever-changing legal landscape of the United States and determine just how many states permit medicinal marijuana use. There are currently 36 states that have passed legislation making medical marijuana possession and use for treatment of various ailments lawful. Items can only be purchased by persons in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, and only from a medical dispensary. Twelve other states have banned recreational use of cannabis and limited medical marijuana to CBD-only products with strict limitations on THC concentration. To date, medical and recreational marijuana use by adults is allowed in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
Then again, could you perhaps explain the distinction between cannabis used for medical purposes and cannabis used for recreational purposes? The product's primary function needs to be understood first. There are medical benefits to using marijuana. Adults typically consume cannabis for recreational purposes. Potency, legal age, purchase and possession amounts, taxation rates, and the legal number of plants allowed to be cultivated are ...
... the most notable distinctions between medical and recreational marijuana.
Patients must be 18 or older to access medical cannabis programs. In order to sign up as a caregiver, minors need the approval of a legal guardian. Only items sold by medical dispensaries can legally be used for medicinal purposes. On the other hand, in places where recreational marijuana use is permitted, buyers must be at least 21 years old (similar to alcohol laws).
Distinct states have different limits on how much marijuana a medicinal or recreational customer can buy at one time. Arizona allows qualified medicinal marijuana users to purchase 2.5 ounces every two weeks, with a monthly limit of 10 ounces. Toke enthusiasts can buy up to an ounce of flower every visit, with no more than five grams of concentrates or extracts.
The tax rate varies from one state to another. Many states have low or no taxes on medical marijuana. Taxes on recreational cannabis in jurisdictions where it is legal to do so might range from twenty percent to thirty five percent. Patients in Arizona who purchase medical marijuana pay only local and state taxes. However, recreational cannabis is subject to an additional excise tax of 16 percent on top of existing state and local levies.
Medical marijuana patients in Arizona who live more than 25 miles from a dispensary are allowed to cultivate their own plants for personal use. People over the age of 21 can legally grow up to six cannabis plants in their homes for recreational use, or twelve plants if there are two or more adults living there.
Limits on THC concentrations for recreational use are often lower than those for medical use. Patients in Arizona's medical marijuana program have access to cannabis with greater THC concentrations, which can assist reduce the severity of symptoms associated with chronic diseases. But for recreational use, edible cannabis products cannot exceed 10 mg of THC each serving and 100 mg per package.
