Khajuraho temples are a group of twenty-five temples in the Chattarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, India. These temples are known for their spell bounding sculptures.

The rulers of the Chandela dynasty built these temples between 950 AD – 1050 AD.

According to archeology experts, there were eighty-five temples in Khajuraho, but only twenty-five survived the attacks of Muslim invaders.

Later they got lost in obscurity, and the forest and vegetation grew around them, and a British surveyor T. S. Burnt found them.
