How To Get Traffic Organically
Every business wants to be ahead of their competitors, specially in search engines. Obviously there are paid options to do this, such as PPC and SEO but I will discuss how to achieve this organically at no costs.
How to get traffic organically?
Any traffic which lands on your website via a search term and you are not paying anything for this to happen is Organic traffic. Till few years ago, this traffic use to originate from search engines, when some used to search for some key word.
Every search engine has there own algorithms to score your website for every term which has been searched for. You can achieve this by optimizing your website, this process is called SEO or Search Engine Optimisation.
Things have changed rapidly and now you can boost this traffic flow organically by using many different social channels.
Let's talk about that. Below are few key points to remember while doing so:
Website Optimization
Make sure your website content is optimized & interesting for the visitor, not search engines.
This means, you will end up having relevant keywords focused towards your ...
... audience, automatically and surely this will make visitor spend more time on you website and it surely will boost your search engine rankings.
Similarly, On social channels, keep your content relevant, minimal and customer focused, hence you will attract right audience. Resulting in more visits for your website and more business.
Keywords
Use long-tail keywords, most website wont succeed because they will target top keywords for there niche. Try to be more specific about your product/service, this will make search engines identify your website as a destination for more relevant audience, which will boost you content and bring an ideal visitor.
Remember: If you selling a Premium Quality Silk Scarf, your keyword should be like “premium quality silk scarf” not only “silk scarf”. If you are offering it at a very competitive price, than “cheapest premium quality silk scarf” not “cheap silk scarf”.
Meta Data
The meta title, URL and description are the three key ingredients for an optimised web page. It’s simple but effective. In fact, all SEO factors are important to get right, but meta descriptions and meta data means you can tell search engines exactly what you're talking about.
Meta Data for “Oregon IT Solutions” sold by “Contact Us” should look like:
Title : Premium Quality Silk Scarf by YourBrand
URL : www.oritsolutions.com/contact/
Description: Check out our premium quality silk scarf selection available at a very affordable price.
Consistently Improve
Try to optimize your website more often. Google Webmaster tools can help you learn better about your keyword rankings and hence you can optimize your webpages accordingly to attract more relevant audience.
Internal links
Build your internal links by linking and mentioning other products or pages in your blog posts and related products. This can keep visitors on your website for longer and browse more of your webpages, which helps boost your search rankings.
Incoming links
Google prioritises sites that have a lot of incoming links, especially from other trustworthy sites. Encourage clients, friends, family members, partners, suppliers and friendly fellow bloggers to link to your site.
The more incoming links you have, the higher your site will rank because, quite simply, the more authoritative it becomes in the eyes of search engines.
BEWARE: not to buy links from anybody, as they will spam you with bad links, encourage customers and friends to mention you.
Why not?
You can also link to your webpages yourself, on your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stumble Upon etc. But make sure your posts are targeting towards right audience, If people come in from social media and spend time with your content, it is a strong signal to Google that the content is relevant, useful and interesting.
Social Media
Build presence on social media and keep your content fresh and interesting. You can be the King of 1 or 2 social channels, rather than be a pawn on every social channel.
Engaging Audience
It is indeed very good approach to engage with audience socially and review websites. Try to reply as many comments and reviews as possible, as it will show your audience that there is somebody on the other end. Customers do like businesses which listen to them.
Blogging
Most businesses will think blogging is outdated but honestly blogging is an excellent way to build your company's catalogue of persona-optimized content and surely it allows you to offer more in depth view of your approach towards the niche of business.
Data and Metrics
Use something like Google Analytics to track visitors to your site. Being able to see where they come from and what keywords they searched for allows you to fine-tune your content.
Ultimately, to increase organic site traffic.
