Pre-requisites of GMAT Preparation
There are a few things you should do before beginning your GMAT preparation. You must ensure that you:
Familiarise yourself with the exam pattern:
Because of its computer-adaptive nature, the GMAT differs significantly from other MBA exams. You should be aware of the exam pattern, syllabus, and eligibility requirements so that you can obtain structured information about the paper.
Take a diagnostic mock test:
Before you begin anything, take a practice test to see where you stand and how well you can answer the questions.
Target B-schools and what score you need:
The selection criteria for various business schools vary. The validity of your GMAT score varies by college. Just make sure to thoroughly research the B-schools you're interested in as well as their admissions procedures.

... up GMAT Course and Resources:

Identify your weaknesses:
Analyze yourself using the mocks and tests you're taking, and work on them as needed. Make a list of your strengths and weaknesses, and work harder on your weaknesses.
Design your study plan:
Now comes the most important part: GMAT preparation. Distribute your time evenly among the sectionals and devote extra time to your weak areas. A detailed section-by-section practice is provided below.
Section-wise Detailed Strategy
1. Analytical Writing Assessment
Maintaining a confident and formal tone in your AWA essay is essential. You are not allowed to provide your own opinions on the provided argument. Instead of using full sentences and long words, write a concise essay that expresses your thoughts clearly.
Before you begin writing, plan out how you will proceed with the essay. Keep a logical flow. Arrange your thoughts in a logical order, then break them up into paragraphs. Finally, be yourself and go with the flow that feels right to you.
2. Quantitative Section
You will encounter two types of questions in this section. To ace this section, you must have a solid GMAT preparation strategy. Here's how to respond to both types of questions.
a) Problem Solving Type: You may come across questions that appear to be more difficult than the GMAT level. You simply need to look for a simpler and faster way to answer that question. Use the answer options to test them out and see which one works best. Calculation should be done using logic. To find 25% of a given number, for example, you should know when to multiply it by 0.25 or 1/4. The GMAT exam focuses on your application skills rather than your theoretical knowledge.
b) Data Sufficiency: These types of questions are regarded as the most difficult on the GMAT by the personal tutors for GMAT. This section determines whether you have sufficient data to answer the questions. To know the correct answer, you do not always have to completely solve the question. You only need to know if the given statement answers the question's stem. Just remember that Statements 1 and 2 must both lead to the same conclusion.
3. Verbal Skills
The Verbal Skills section is divided into three sections: Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, and Sentence Correction. It is critical for you to develop an effective GMAT preparation strategy for them.
a) Reading Comprehension: To tackle RCs, make reading a regular habit. Read articles from a variety of sources and genres. Check that you understand what is being asked. Try not to read the passage too many times. Read through all of the options carefully and employ the elimination method. Once you've established a reading habit, start paying attention to your speed. Make information-based inferences. Determine the passage's tone and gist, as well as the author's intended message. You're ready to go if you practice regularly.
b) Sentence Correction: You will be given a sentence, with a portion of it underlined. There will be five options presented to you, and you must select the one that best reflects the underlined part. Begin by carefully reading the sentence. Understand what the sentence is saying. Now, before you read the options, concentrate on the underlined section and identify any potential errors in the sentence. Examine the options and eliminate the ambiguous ones.
c) Critical Reasoning: Because CR questions directly stress your thinking skills across a wide range of scenarios that demand critical evaluation, logical reasoning, and attention to detail, they are central to how the GMAT is scored.
To successfully evaluate a passage provided in a GMAT CR question, you must be able to determine which sentences provide evidence or context and which sentences present the conclusion. When answering strengthening/weakening questions, try to imagine the polar opposite of the given argument in your mind. This will help you understand the significance of an argument, and you may find the appropriate solution by considering the consequences if the opposite were true.
