What Are Foam Ceiling Panels?
A commercial building or a house is not complete without right insulation. These days, the impact of global warming is taking a toll on both the bungalows and skyscrapers that is why it is vital to take right measures to reinforce the building.
Insulation assists in keeping warm air out during summer months and in during cold months. The most common insulation materials are sheet metals like aluminum and galvanized steel. As these are metals, their price varies from time to time. Moreover, they can be heavy and expensive when transported in very huge amounts. Other than using aluminum and galvanized steel, fiberglass duct panels are also used.
The insulative attributes of fiberglass are much better than that of galvanized steel or aluminum. Nonetheless, fiberglass is also costlier. Aluminum, galvanized steel, and fiber glass all their applications in the industry today. Nonetheless, there are some applications in which the use of these materials would be too inconvenient or expensive. This is where the engineers or architects use foam ceiling panels.
Foam ceiling panels ...
... are the most commonly used panels. They are light in weight and more reasonable than fiberglass, aluminum or steel. These panels can be used in the air ducts and ceilings. They can be made flexible or rigid. Most of these foam panels are lined with a thin layer of aluminum on both sides to reinforce the insulative properties. This foam is a type of resin that is made of phenol and aldehyde.
What makes this type of foam stand out among other building insulators is its moisture resistance and fire performance. It won’t melt when it comes in contact with fire. Flames have negligible chances of spreading once they come in contact with this foam. Moreover, the foam creates very negligible amounts of smoke when burnt which is not harmful.
To maintain the quality, the foam comes with various standardized fire certifications. The best assortment is closed cell phenolic foam due to its thermal performance. Very little moisture can enter through this type of foam. If the foam is punctured, the moisture will stay on the punctured area and won’t be absorbed by the foam.
Sounds may bounce off your furnishings, ceilings, floor and walls. When this happens, it may get distorted and difficult to hear. While designing a home theater, it is important that you have sound absorption features to enhance the sound quality in the room and eradicate reverberations. Home theater sound panels are durable and simple to install in home or office.
There are various stylish ways to use acoustical curtains for reducing noise and to soundproof your living space. If you are not sure how to make the best use of the curtains, ask your store representative for decorating advice. You will value the peace and serenity of your home.
