Is Tramadol The Right Drug To Manage Your Pain?
Tramadol works a little like morphine to control pain. It, like morphine, binds to the receptors in the brain that transmit pain sensations through the body. Used correctly, Tramadol can provide relief from mild to moderately severe pain. The downside to taking this drug over an extended period of time is that it is addictive and you may have difficulties if you decide to stop taking it, or if your doctor decides you have been on it long enough. Gradual "weaning" is the method recommended when you are stopping Tramadol use. Don't stop taking this drug without informing your doctor so that he can monitor your progress.
Tramadol may interact unfavorably with certain drugs you may already be taking, so be sure your doctor knows about the prescription medicines you take along with any vitamins, herbs, natural products and any other OTC (over the counter) medicines or supplements you are currently using. When taken as it is meant to be, Tramadol is very effective at relieving pain but should only be used as long as it is needed. Some pain sufferers may require long term pain management if ...
... they suffer from a chronic affliction. Painkillers in any form can be habit forming, however. This is why it is important to take them exactly as instructed, and only in the doses that are recommended by the health care provider.
Tramadol is not a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID, as many people mistakenly think, so therefore none of the risks of stomach ulcerations associated with the use of NSAIDs will occur. It is a synthetic man-made analgesic. It is only available by prescription from your doctor, and comes in tablet form. It is available in 50mg immediate release tablets, or 100, 200, and 300 mg extended release tablets.
Tramadol immediate release tablets are used for pain management that is moderate to moderately severe, and taken for a short time. The extended release tablets are recommended for someone who has chronic moderate to moderately severe pain that must be treated for longer periods. Dosage is usually one tablet every 4 to 6 hours, and no more than 400 mg per day. A person who is taking Tramadol for the first time will usually start out at a smaller dose and build up tolerance as the dosage is increased.
If you decide that you no longer need to take Tramadol see your doctor to begin withdrawing from the drug. Sudden stopping can result in withdrawal effects that are definitely not pleasant. Symptoms of withdrawal can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks even if you are gradually being taken off Tramadol. Some people experience psychological symptoms along with the noticeable physical symptoms. You may feel bouts of panic, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, shakiness in the body, or hallucinations (although this is rare) when you withdraw from this drug. The symptoms can be alleviated or lessened by slow, cautious tapering off. You will have some effects, but they will last a shorter length of time.
If you need Tramadol to relieve your pain, we can supply it in packs of 30 to 180 tablets. Visit our site for more information on Tramadol - http://www.tramadol.nu/
