Tvs Apache Rtr 180cc Review
TVS Apache RTR 180cc was the answer to the existing Bajaj Pulsar 180. It was designed and engineered under the project name TVS Apache RTR 180 cc Menace. The TVS Company’s major motive was to bring a revolutionary change in the road-racing world. The refreshing looks and the ergonomics is the main highlight of the bike. The powerful engine and the interesting design are the main assets of the Apache RTR 180.
Looks:
Apache RTR 180 gets thumbs up for its all-new look, which is very unique and at the same time sporty. The most prominent change in the RTR 180 when compared to other variants is the graphic scheme; RTR is runs boldly over the fuel tank scoops, which catches your attention immediately. The front forks and the gas reservoirs are painted in gold. The clip-ons adorn the RTR logo and other features such as the new grab rails, sleek silencer and a large fuel tank make up for the overall stylish look of the bike and the pearly white color is certainly refreshing to the cornea. But how different is the RTR 180cc from the other Apache tribe member the RTR 160? To say, very honestly there are ...
... not many spotting differences between the two so it is kind of a let down on expectations of bike lovers.
Engine and performance of the TVS Apache RTR 180cc:
The Apache RTR 180 is built with a 4 stroke, air-cooled 177.4cc engine that generates 17bhp power at 8500 rpm and torque of 15.5Nm at 6500 rpm. It goes from 0-60kmph in 4.5 seconds and touches a top speed of 125kmph. The aerodynamic scoops not only enhance the design of the bike but also direct the air towards the engine unit that enables better cooling. It might be a disappointment for many with regard to the top speed, as its competitors are recorded to give much better top speed. But the engine’s power out put of 17bhp could be the compensating factor.
Handling the Apache RTR 180cc:
As compared to its predecessor the Apache 160, the RTR 180cc is much ahead, as the wheelbase is longer by 400mm, which gives the bike more stability and instils hell lot of confidence in the rider. In fact, if the power isn’t all that pleasing, then handling will compensate that.
As regards the ride quality, the TVS Apache RTR 180cc is a smoothie on straight roads as well as along the notorious bends too, and the reason for this is the meticulous designing done on the engine fairing and the aerodynamics of the bike. The forward set up offers a great riding posture that helps in comfortable riding and even the pillion rider will be at utmost comfort with forward set foot pegs and differently styled grab rails. Braking too will feel awesome and one can stably step down from 120kmph speed to 80 kmph. Not many bikes offer that experience for sure.
Color options and price:
The TVS Apache RTR 180 is available in pearl while, black, grey and yellow for a price of Rs. 64,900.
