The Switch Delhi campaign was started to create overarching awareness of EVs among the citizens of Delhi to increase the uptake of electric vehicles. Delhi EV policy is said to be one of the most progressive policies globally as it sets an ambitious vision to improve Delhi’s air quality and to become one of the top cities in the world in terms of electric vehicle adoption. The government aims to have 1 out of every 4 vehicles to be EV by 2024. Delhi government has also urged several giant companies, delivery chains, resident welfare associations, malls and cinema halls to set up electric charging stations at their premises to promote electric vehicles.

Subsidy Policy to promote EV charger

A single window facility is launched by Delhi Government in coordination with DISCOMs for the installation of private EVs. A consumer can avail a charging point by visiting Tata Power- DDL EV portal or by calling Tata Power-DDL Sampark Kendra @19124. The installation and operationalization will be done within seven working days after ...
... the submission of the request. A consumer has to spend Rs. 2500 for a two or three-wheeler electric vehicle charging point to be installed under the scheme.

Electric vehicles eligible under Delhi EV policy

• E-Cycles

• Two-Wheelers

• E-Auto Rickshaw

• Four Wheelers

• Light Commercial Vehicles

• E-Rickshaws and E-Carts

Why to switch to Electric Vehicles?

• Easy maintenance

• Easy to charge

• Cost-effective

• Easy to drive

• No noise pollution

• Reduce greenhouse gas emission

• Reduce oil imports

• Will improve air quality

As air quality is a major concern in the national capital region and conventional vehicles being a major source of air pollution in the national capital, the rapid adoption of EVs would help curb the high levels of pollutants by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TATA Power-DDL has always supported eco-friendly business models and therefore supports the Indian Government’s ‘National Electric Mobility Mission’ and Delhi Government’s vision of promoting electric vehicles establishing Delhi as the EV capital of India. Tata Power-DDL is facilitating the establishment of battery swapping and public charging stations within its licensed area to promote green and clean modes of transportation.
