So you are thinking about taking a Holiday in Egypt, well here are some excellent tips to make your tour the very best it can be.

First off is what to see. There is no question that the must see sites and or destinations are Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel. In Cairo you should look to visit The Pyramids, The Sphinx, Coptic Cairo, The khan al khalili bazaar, King Tuts Mask and you really should see the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.

Next we move on to Aswan. In Aswan you will definitely want to see The Aswan Dam, the Temple of Philae, Elephantine Island and the unfinished obelisk. Remember also Aswan is a great place to start a Nile Cruise and make your way to the stunning city of Luxor.

Before doing that thought, you might want to think about have an early morning and taking a tour out to Abu Simbel. Abu Simbel itself is stunning, but when you consider that the entire temple was moved to make way to Lake Nasser, then it really does become an incredible feet of ancient and modern engineering.

However you have made your way to Luxor, leave plenty of time to sightsee. Luxor is full of history ...
... and you just must take in at least some of the following.

Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatchepsut Temple and the Valley of the Queens. A second trip to Karnak is worthwhile after dark to see the Sound and Light Show at the temple.

Finally in Luxor a cruise on a felucca makes for a fantastic afternoon. We suggest going early afternoon and cruising up to Banana Island. There you can have a walk, have bite to eat and a drink, before cruising back to Luxor as the sun sets in the distance over the Valley of the Kings.

If after all that sightseeing you fancy to take some time by the beach, then a really excellent choice is Hurghada or Sharm el Sheikh. The are both largely alike . In fact the major choice of which to visit is often timescale and budget in that Hurghada can be travelled to by road and for Sharm you either have to go overland and then take a ferry or fly sometimes via Cairo. Both offer plenty of water sports, sun, sea and relaxation.

A couple of last thoughts, if you still have plenty of time, do not forget that Egypt is a great gateway to the fantastic country of Jordan and such sites as Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and of course the capital of Amman. You can visit Jordan overland and then by ferry or via air, which is just a one hour flight.

We are often asked by clients what to take to Egypt, any items you may not think of. To this we say, a sweatshirt of light jacket. Although Egypt is a hot country, the nights can get chilly especially in the desert for things like the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids.

Also pens are a great thing to take. In Egypt, with children in particular, if you offer them a pound or a pen, they will take the pen every time They are always in short supply in Egypt.

Have a great trip.
